DOONDI ASH NEWS
Polocrosse Sandra Webb and Doondi Sapphire - Doug Webb purchased Doondi Sapphire at Dalby as a 2 year old, his daughter Sandra plays a no 3 on the mare and this year represented NSW in the Womens team at the RAS. Most recently Sandra and Saphire were awarded player and horse awards at the 2006 Polocrosse nationals. Doug returned earlier this year and purchased a full sister Doondi Diamond. Via their ET program Sapphire already has a filly foal on the ground. We wish the Webb family all the best with their Doondi mares for future polocrosse success. A full sister has sold to Glenyis Mcaliaster Rockhampton, a 2 year old sister Doondi Opal has been broken in and is going well. Madeline will be joined in the spring to Ahwahnee Condor.

Congratulations to Emily Losche on her campdrafting success with Doondi Crusie. Crusie was purchased at Dalby by Robert and Sharon Losche, they also purchased Doondi Maverick a full brother to Cruise. Both these horses are out of Flemmings Meg our Mystic broodmare and full sister to Trevor Palmers Ribon winner of over 100 campdrafts. Pictured below is Emily and proud dad Robert after placing in the Juvenile draft and mustering at home. Doondi have retained a full brother to these two horses Doondi Ice will be joined over selected broodmares this Spring. Ice has broken in well and will mature 15 h. See Stallions at stud.

Cloncurry Stockman's Challenge 2005 - in July last year we traveled to Cloncurry entering Stryder in the Stockman's Challenge, being our first trip it was a great experience (20 hrs up & 20 hrs back!). Stryder scored an 84 in the ladies to make the final and missed out by a few points on the challenge final. Tom our middle child drafted for the first time in a "mini" draft - we don't have these at home so it was fantastic for Jeff to ride in the camp and make sure everything went well. Tom is 5 and rode Doondi Request our priceless gelding and all round best kids pony to score 16 in the camp and 32 outside - he was rapt with a ribbon and of course requested a new hat! (You can't breed the cowboy out they tell me.....)
On the way home we did some dog trading and swapped Bill Little a border collie bitch for a dog pup, to add some bite to our breed and some brain to his. Will Dunkley from Curlewis travelled with us and entered his mare Storm in the Stanbroke challenge. Will is working our young mares on Timor Station which will give them a good grounding before Dalby. Also on the way we stopped in at Longreach to visit with Al and Ben Roughan owners of the Merino Bakery (Al and Jon were at Glennie together). So all in all a great "holiday" experience, knowing Jeff we will be back to Cloncurry to have another go at the Challenge - possibly with Stryders first foal from a Condor mare Doondi Pebbles in 2007!

Plainsman Challenge Success!
The successful partnership continues, with Jeff and Stryder scoring an 88 in the draft section of the Plainsman's challenge to win both draft sections. We keep reminding ourselves that Stryder is still only 4 yrs old, his speed and softness on his cattle continues to amaze us.
