Doondi Enterprises presents three quality stock horses for the 2004 Dalby ASH sale in December. Jeff and Jon-Maree Baker principals of Doondi ASH have been breeding stock horses for the past 8 yrs, their breeding program is based on Stud sire Ahwahnee Condor-Champion Working Stallion 04 Nationals. Condor is by Warrenbri Romeo, out of Yarranoo Pivot who won and placed in 65 drafts. Pivot's dam Tara is also the dam of Silver Minstrel, sire of the dam of this years Warwick gold cup winner Snowy. Doondi Appeal lot no 58 : Ahwahnee Condor/Bohena Maree, is a 7 year old bay mare, lightly drafted in 2004 for consistent scores this mare is all class. Her dam is a ¾ sister to the well performed Bohena Willus owned by Belinda Williamson.
Appeal has won and placed in working and led classes and is a proven brood mare for the future. Offered for sale as Jeff and Jon-Maree have retained her filly foal by Doondi's young sire Glenmore P/ship Stryder. (See Glenmore P/ship Jag a Full brother to Stryder for Sale at Dalby this year). Doondi Appeal is an outstanding type of mare and is ready to go on and excel in any horse sport. Will be drafted up to time of sale.
Doondi Reba lot no 245 : Ahwahnee Condor/Barella Cygnet, Reba is a 4 year old bay mare, she is an exceptionally quiet mare & would be a horse for the whole family. Her Dam Barella Cygnet has two Warwick gold cup winning mares in her pedigree in Merle and Cool Dust two outstanding mares of their time. Reba is a proven broodmare for the future, bred to Doondi's young sire Glenmore P/ship Styder at the same time as Doondi Appeal. Jeff and Jon-Maree have retained a full sister to Reba in their Stud. Reba has had three months mustering prior to sale and is going nicely. Doondi offers consistent quality in these two mares at Dalby this year.
Jeff Baker stud principal said “They're two handy mares, Appeal will compete in the open challenge on the Friday and will be drafted up to the sale, stud sire Condor will also compete in the open challenge as well." This will be the first run in a challenge for our up and coming young stallion Glenmore P/ship Stryderin the 4 year old challenge. Watch out for Stryder in the challenge and his full brother Jag in the sale.
Bearpark Lonestar Lot no 202 : Doondi Request/Bearpark Kit are owned by Jeff and Jon-Maree's 6 year old daughter Shaine Baker this is her second time selling at Dalby ASH Sale as the youngest vendor. Bearpark Kit was a gift from her Grandfather Peter Manchee, Kit is a campdraft winning mare. Lonestar's sire Doondi Request was gelded in May 2004 after serious illness. Request is now ridden by Shaine with tremendous success, winning high point rider in her troop at Narrabri Pony Camp this year, highlighting the quality and temperament of Doondi Stock horses. Lonestar is a three year old gelding, he is an eye catching type. Showing the potential from the quality of his pedigree.
